Lawyers
Leanne Johnson
Leanne was born and raised and has practiced in Saskatchewan her entire career. She received her Political Studies degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995 and subsequently, her law degree in 1998. After completing her articles in Prince Albert in 2000, Leanne returned to Saskatoon and has been practicing family law ever since. Leanne has assisted clients in a variety of cases including disputes involving child custody and parenting, child support, spousal support, division of property between married and common-law couples, contested and uncontested divorces, step-parent adoptions, mobility (move-away) requests, and Prenuptial/Postnuptial Agreements. Having practiced family law for over 20 years, Leanne has had much experience at all levels of court in Saskatchewan, including Chambers applications, Pre-Trial Conferences, Trials and Appeals. She is a trained Mediator, Arbitrator and Parenting Coordinator and offers Legal Coaching and Unbundled (partial) services.
Outside the office, Leanne is a parent to two active children, is a former member of the Board of Directors for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL) recently retired from the Board of Directors for SaskTel Centre, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK) and the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association as the Editor of the Advocate Magazine. She is a member of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Saskatchewan, NSBA, Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan and Prairieland Park and was a 2018 Women of Distinction nominee. Leanne wholeheartedly enjoys helping her clients and works diligently to meet their needs. She looks forward to working with you!

Doc Crooks
Doc comes to us from southern Saskatchewan originally but has spent some time in both Vancouver and Regina. Doc attended the University of Saskatchewan for his undergraduate studies in Agricultural Economics, then graduated from the College of Law, also at the University of Saskatchewan. After receiving his Bachelor of Law in 2002, he spent a year in Australia traveling before articling and being called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2004.
For years, while operating his law practice, Doc was also a firefighter/paramedic with the Regina Fire and Protective Services. One of Doc’s favourite hobbies is home renovations. Doc is also interested in the rapidly developing technology in the practice of law and the use of it to create a better client experience.
Presently, Doc is a member of the Saskatoon Kinsmen Club, 100 Men That Give a Damn, has previously served on the board of Cheshire Homes International, and was an active member with the Alberta Bar Association.

Devin Wilder
Born and raised in Moose Jaw, Devin has spent most of his life in Saskatchewan, including his time in Political Studies and Economics at the University of Saskatchewan. Upon graduating with distinction in 2016, Devin attended and convocated from the University of York College of Law. While attending university in Saskatoon, Devin was an avid notetaker for Services of Students and volunteered with Hands-on Outreach & Development. In law school, he sat as Chairperson with the University’s Law Society and gained valuable insight through student internships and work terms at law firms in Canada and Europe.
After completing law school, Edge Family Law was fortunate enough to welcome Devin as their articling student. Devin completed his articles with flying colors and has flourished as a family law lawyer since his call to the Saskatchewan Bar.
Devin is a firm believer in community involvement. He is a current member of the NSBA, Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association, and the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon. When Devin is not in the office, he enjoys volunteering at the Running Wild Rescue, working on cars, traveling, and photography.

Chelsie McKay
Chelsie was born and raised in Quebec before moving to Saskatchewan when she was 14 years old. She attended the University of Saskatchewan in 2009 and received her bachelor’s degree (Great Distinction) in Economics before graduating from law school in 2015.
Chelsie articled with the provincial government which provided her with experience in many different areas of law and allowed her to become comfortable in the courtroom.
Prior to joining Edge Family Law in May 2021, Chelsie worked at a large, full-service law firm and a smaller firm practicing primarily in Family Law. She has been involved in assisting clients with a large variety of family law issues and prides herself on quick and effective communication.
Chelsie assists the Ministry of Justice by volunteering with the Family Law Information Sessions providing free legal information to the public. She has also recently begun volunteering with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan.

Chelsea Campbell
Chelsea received her Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction in Psychology in 2009, her Diploma with Great Distinction in Youth Care Work in 2016, and her Juris Doctor in 2019. Prior to attending law school, Chelsea worked as an Intervenor for the Canadian Deaf Blind Association, as a program facilitator at BridgePoint Centre for Eating Disorders, and as a Disability Support Worker at McCallum House.
During law school, Chelsea volunteered with CLASSIC in their Legal Advice Clinic and with the Systemic Initiatives Program. She has volunteered with various groups throughout the years, including The Terry Fox Run, World’s Vision’s 30 Hours Famine, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and The Sexual Assault Centre. Chelsea ran a half marathon in Iceland for Team Diabetes, and currently sits as President of the German Language School’s Board.
Chelsea is an avid jogger, piano player, globetrotter, and gardener, and describes herself as “a hippie at heart”. Of all her accomplishments, Chelsea is most proud of being mom to her two little boys, Hendrix and Linden.

Christina Lengert
Christina is one of our newest Legal Assistants in the office and is happy to be apart of the Edge Family! Christina was born and raised in Saskatoon and has recently settled in the City of Martensville with her blended family. Christina is the proud mother to two daughters, and stepmom to her step-son and step-daughter. Christina graduated from her Legal Assistant Program in 2012 and began her career as an Assistant in Estate Planning and Family Law. Branching off from Family Law and Estate Planning, Christina accepted a position in Criminal Law to expand her knowledge and worked many years as a Criminal Law Assistant. Christina’s love for Family Law has brought her to our office.
Outside of work you will find Christina with her family and close friends, as she is extremely family oriented. Her little ones keep her busy with activities and events. On days when they aren’t busy running around, Christina enjoys reading a good book, shopping, and movie nights with her loved ones.
Dezz Windecker-Klassen
Dezz Windecker-Klassen was born in Manitoba and after many moves through Alberta and Saskatchewan, she and her husband have settled in Warman, Saskatchewan. Dezz is the proud parent to twins, Katherine and Andrew, who were born in Regina, in 1995. In 2001, Dezz attended the Legal Assistant Program at Universal Career Campus in Saskatoon, graduating with full marks in September 2002. Dezz obtained her first position as a family law legal assistant with Willows Tulloch & Howe in Regina in November of 2002. Dezz met her husband, Mike Klassen, in 2003 and they were married in Saskatoon in May of 2006. Dezz belongs to a non-profit organization called the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and has been a member since 1998.
While much of her career has been in the field of family law, Dezz has experience in civil litigation, collections, Wills and estates, and office management. Dezz’s love for family law has motivated her to continue to remain knowledgeable and educated in family law and brings her back to the role of family law paralegal. Edge is extremely fortunate to have her on our team as she is among the most senior and experienced family law assistants in Saskatoon. She is a diligent, detail-oriented team member who is highly valued and has a positive impact on everyone around her.
Kelsey Begg
Kelsey was new to the law arena when she joined Edge Family Law after receiving her Legal Assistant Diploma from Saskatoon Business College. She has since risen to the ranks of one of our senior staff members thanks to her exceptional work ethic, ability to work in a team setting, and high level of competence. Pre-Edge, Kelsey enjoyed a wealth of life and work experience, ranging from banking to bartending to working in a chiropractic office, and everyone she worked with was privileged to be around her cheerful disposition, as we are now. Kelsey would tell you her true passions in life are helping others and writing. She is a bookworm and an avid animal enthusiast who loves her job at Edge Family Law – and it shows.
Taylor Hancock
Taylor is our new receptionist here at Edge and is very excited to be a part of the team! Born and raised in Saskatoon, Taylor’s administrative work experience helped guide her to a legal career path where she would take pride in helping people move forward with important life decisions and situations. After graduating from Sask. Polytech in 2020, Taylor earned her certificate in Court Administration and knew that with that knowledge, she’d be closer to reaching her goal of a fulfilling career in Family Law. Taylor joined our team in December 2021 and is continuing to learn the ins and outs of the field.
Outside of work, Taylor enjoys an adventurous lifestyle and is always eager to try new things. Some of her favorite activities include exercising, camping, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, painting, and reading. Taylor values her time spent with friends and family and hopes to do more travelling in the upcoming year!

Renee Johnson
Renee was born and raised Saskatoon. Upon successfully completing her education with Saskatoon Business College, she headed to Prince Albert where she began her career as a Legal Assistant. We are lucky and grateful that she joined the Edge team and that she is back in her hometown where she and her boyfriend have decided to settle down.
Renee is multi-talented, having graduated from the hairstyling program at MC College. She enjoys travelling and took the opportunity after graduating from MC College to see the world for a year. She also enjoys going to the gym, hanging out with her boyfriend and dog and watching reality tv shows to turn the brain off.
