Lawyers
LawyerLeanne Johnson
Leanne was born and raised and has practiced in Saskatchewan her entire career. She received her Political Studies degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995 and subsequently, her law degree in 1998. After completing her articles in Prince Albert in 2000, Leanne returned to Saskatoon and has been practicing family law ever since. Leanne has assisted clients in a variety of cases including disputes involving child custody and parenting, child support, spousal support, division of property between married and common-law couples, contested and uncontested divorces, step-parent adoptions, mobility (move-away) requests, and Prenuptial/Postnuptial Agreements. Having practiced family law for over 20 years, Leanne has had much experience at all levels of court, including Chambers applications, Pre-Trial Conferences, Trials, Appeals and the Supreme Court of Canada. She is a trained Mediator, Arbitrator and Parenting Coordinator.
Outside the office, Leanne is a parent to two active children, is a former member of the Board of Directors for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL), the Board of Directors for SaskTel Centre, the Board of Directors for Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK) and the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association as the Editor of the Advocate Magazine. She is a member of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Saskatchewan, NSBA, Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan and Prairieland Park and was a 2018 Women of Distinction nominee. Leanne wholeheartedly enjoys helping her clients and works diligently to meet their needs. She looks forward to working with you!
LawyerChelsie McKay
Chelsie was born and raised in Quebec before moving to Saskatchewan when she was 14 years old. She attended the University of Saskatchewan in 2009 and received her bachelor’s degree (Great Distinction) in Economics before graduating from law school in 2015.
Chelsie articled with the provincial government which provided her with experience in many different areas of law and allowed her to become comfortable in the courtroom.
Prior to joining Edge Family Law in May 2021, Chelsie worked at a large, full-service law firm and a smaller firm practicing primarily in Family Law. She has been involved in assisting clients with a large variety of family law issues and prides herself on quick and effective communication.
Chelsie assists the Ministry of Justice by volunteering with the Family Law Information Sessions providing free legal information to the public. She has also recently begun volunteering with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan.

Administrative AssistantJasmine Card
Jasmine was born in Saskatoon but moved to the United States at the age of five for her father’s job. After spending six and a half years between Alabama and Maryland, she moved back to Saskatoon with her family. Jasmine is very family oriented, maintaining a great relationship with her sisters, nieces and nephews. Growing up so tightly with her family, Jasmine is a very outgoing, personable and dedicated human.
Jasmine began her career with Edge after working in an administration office for a local mall for a combined seven and a half years over her eleven years of working experience. She has worked in a few different fields of work, but prefers an office setting.
Jasmine enjoys volunteering her time with non-profits, including Hub City Optimist Club and New Hope Dog Rescue. She is the Immediate Past President for her Optimist Club and the Adoption Days Coordinator for New Hope. She serves on a total of two executive boards and a board of directors between the two non-profits.
In her spare time, Jasmine loves to crochet, read, paint, hangout with her nieces and nephews and make new friends. She has two dogs at home: Moses, an eight year old Shih Tzu, and Misty, a twelve year old Sheltie.
Administrative AssistantSydney Cochrane
Sydney grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan with her three brothers. After graduating high school she spent some time in Ontario before returning to Saskatchewan and settling down in Saskatoon with her two kids.
Sydney is multi-talented and isn’t afraid of a challenge! She has dipped her toes into a variety of employment opportunities and now, Edge Family Law is lucky enough to have her on our team!
Outside of work Sydney is a volunteer Adoption Event Coordinator for the Saskatoon Dog Rescue as well as a certified event planner. She also enjoys hobbies such as baking, reading, and taking her son and daughter to explore the city.
