Leanne was born and raised in Saskatchewan and has practised in Saskatchewan her entire career. She received her Political Studies degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995 and subsequently, her law degree in 1998. After completing her articles in Prince Albert in 2000, Leanne returned to Saskatoon and has been practising family law ever since. Leanne has assisted clients in a variety of cases including disputes involving child custody and access, child support, spousal support, division of property between married and common law couples, contested and uncontested divorces, step-parent adoptions, mobility (move-away) requests, and Prenuptial/Postnuptial Agreements. The majority of matters Leanne is involved in are negotiated rather than litigated, however, throughout her career, Leanne has had much experience at all levels of court in Saskatchewan, including Chambers applications, Pre-Trial Conferences, Examinations for Discoveries, Trials and Appeals. Leanne’s primary focus is on issues surrounding property division. Outside the office, Leanne is a parent to two active children, and enjoys volunteering her time with WANAR Dog Rescue/K9 Country Lodge, the annual Synergy 8 Drive for Kids Campaign, is a former member of the Board of Directors for Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (LCL) and currently sits on the Board of Directors for SaskTel Centre, the Board of Directors for Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK), the Board of Directors for the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association and the North Saskatoon Business Association (NSBA) Club Connect Committee. Beau Atkins was born and raised in Calgary, before returning to his roots (his family hails from Eston, SK) in 2008 to attend Law School. With a taste of prairie life, there was no looking back. Beau has assisted clients in all aspects of family law and has appeared at all levels of court in Saskatchewan.
Beau approaches files from a practical, common sense perspective with a view to guiding clients from what may be the biggest and most stressful ordeal they have ever faced, to recognizing that life goes on and things aren’t always as bad as they seem. Beau is pleased to work with clients around the clock and regularly schedules weekend and evening appointments to provide an unprecedented degree of flexibility to clients.
Beyond the hours of work Beau dedicates to his clients, he has devoted a significant amount of time to volunteer efforts in the family law field and was recognized for his efforts when he won the Victor P. Deitz Q.C. Memorial Pro Bono Service Award in 2018. Beau also enjoys being involved in the community of Saskatoon and was recently appointed as the Board Chair for the Remai Art Gallery.

Ben was Born and raised on a farm outside Canora, Saskatchewan. He received his bachelor’s degree (Double Honours) at the University of Saskatchewan in 2010 and subsequently completed law school at the U of S in 2014.
After graduation from law school, Ben articled and practised in Melfort, Saskatchewan. During his time in Melfort, he was able to gain valuable experience specifically related to Family Law issues in rural Saskatchewan, including issues related to agricultural property and divorce.
In 2016, Ben returned to Saskatoon to work at a full service law firm before joining Edge Family Law in January of 2018.
Ben has assisted a variety of clients on all matters related to family law. He particularly has an interest in assisting individuals in the agricultural industry, as his farming background makes it easier to discuss concerns clients may have with their farm assets while going through a separation or divorce. However, Ben’s family law practice is varied and he has represented individuals involving issues related to custody, access, adoption, child and spousal support in addition to family property issues.
Ben has previously sat as a board member for the Canadian Cancer Society (North East Saskatchewan Unit), AIDS Saskatoon and was previously a member of the Melfort Kinsmen Club.
While not at home with his wife Danielle, Ben enjoys golfing, watching (and coaching) football, camping around Saskatchewan and helping his brother with the family farm.

Will, Edge’s latest student-at-law, is a fifth-generation product of Outlook, Saskatchewan. Surviving a stint in Vancouver, he has lived, worked, and studied in Saskatoon for most of his adult life. A recovering English student, Will dabbled in academia and worked in market research, tech support, technical writing, and sales proposal management before ultimately receiving his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2018.
Will’s outcome-driven approach to serving clients revolves around core principles including flexibility, pragmatic optimism, strong communication, and empathy. Aside from developing his legal practice, Will divides his time across various activities including music, writing, local arts and culture, and defending the farm dog from the bothersome magpies back in the old country. The Pink Wig Foundation, a local non-profit organization providing financial grants to female cancer patients, brought him on board as a director in 2016.
Martina Isa is yet another exceptionally wonderful member of our team. Martina received her Legal Administrative Assistant diploma from Saskatoon Business College in 2011. Martina joined Edge Family Law in October of 2015 and loves every moment of it.
Aside from the many weddings she attends, Martina is quite involved in volunteering her time with Saskatoon’s Chaldean Community. She is an active Board Member of Saskatoon’s Folkfest Mesopotamian Pavilion and a Council Member with the Sacred Heart Chaldean Church. Jasmyn was attending the University of Saskatchewan when she began working in the restaurant industry with a fabulous legal assistant who convinced Jasmyn that there was no better career. Wisely, Jasmyn immediately ended her time at the U of S and enrolled at the Saskatoon Business College. She graduated with a Legal Assistant Diploma and now we are proud to have her. Jasmyn is also an active volunteer with WANAR (We All Need A Rescue) Dog Rescue, dedicated to rehabilitating neglected, abandoned dogs and to finding their “Fur-ever” homes. If Jasmyn isn’t working or hanging out with four-legged fur balls, she enjoys being around family and friends and travelling.

Amber’s main role on the Edge team is as Leanne’s personal assistant. Amber’s passion for her career is driven by personal connection. This is what influenced her to move to Edge Family Law. She formerly specialized in men’s barbering as a Journeyperson stylist. Two very different careers with one common connection – hospitality. When she’s not smiling, she’s laughing. When she’s not laughing, she’s singing. “If I can make someone’s day better by flashing them a smile, then I count that day as a win.”
Amber’s interests outside of the office include music, fictional reading, cooking, and art. She is also an adrenaline junkie…did you say roller coaster? Most importantly, she is a mother to a very sparky 4-year-old daughter.
The Edge team was lucky enough to have Olena volunteer with us while she was attending the LINC Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Prior to joining our team, Olena had received a Diploma in Jurisprudence from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management in Kyiv, Ukraine and had five years of work experience with the Regional Department of Highways as an office coordinator. Since arriving in Canada, Olena has done a stand-up job in perfecting her English language skills at SaskPolytech and has also spent time volunteering at St.Michael School, Porteous Lodge and the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Edge has now had the good fortune of having Olena officially join our team as a legal assistant. During her free time, she enjoys camping and fishing with her three wonderful children and her husband.
Jamie Holmes is one of Edge Family Law’s original team members, who started working with Beau Atkins pre-Edge days and has been with the firm since its inception. As a graduate from Saskatoon Business College in 2012, Jamie brings a high level of professionalism to the office, along with her ability to adapt to various situations under pressure. Jamie is passionate about social work and supporting people from all walks of life in crisis situations, which led her to obtaining a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina via the University of Saskatchewan in 2017. When she’s not in the office, Jamie works casually at the YWCA Women’s Shelter in Saskatoon as a Crisis Counsellor, and enjoys spending time with her husband, Fabian, and two dogs – Bella and Ruby. As a true Saskatchewaner, Jamie lusts for the travel life (especially during the winter months!), and still has that travel bug from her wedding in Chile from December 2017!
Kelsey is new to the law arena, having received her Legal Assistant Diploma from Saskatoon Business College in October 2018. She has a wealth of life and work experience, though, ranging from banking to bartending to working in a chiropractic office, all of which made good use of her cheerful disposition. Kelsey would tell you her true passions in life are helping others and writing. She is a bookworm and an avid animal enthusiast who is truly excited about starting her new chapter in life working at Edge Family Law. We are thrilled to have her!
Danielle is a small-town girl at heart, being raised on a bison farm near Borden, Saskatchewan; she definitely has that charming farm girl spunk.
In 2014 she graduated from MC College as an esthetician. Although Danielle will miss working full-time with her beloved clientele, she is beyond grateful and excited to have gotten the opportunity to work in a new type of client setting.
Danielle’s vivacious and outgoing personality is what leads her busy social calendar, but when she is not with her friends and family, she enjoys spending time at her Dad’s farm or playing slo-pitch. This girl is not afraid of a little hard work and always has a smile on her face while doing it!
With previous legal experience in the areas of family, criminal, residential and commercial real estate, Edge Family Law is excited to welcome Lynette aboard. Originally from Saskatchewan, Lynette moved to the US to attend College on a women’s softball scholarship in 2006. She tackled her undergraduate degree in Legal Studies with a minor in Psychology over the next four years while representing the school on the diamond. Since completion, Lynette spent time living in Alberta and South Africa before returning to Saskatchewan in 2018 where she now calls Saskatoon home. Aside from playing ball, Lynette also enjoys playing hockey and golf as well as snowboarding, traveling, camping and spending time with her friends and very large family.
