Doc Crooks

Doc comes to us from southern Saskatchewan originally but has spent some time in both Vancouver and Regina. Doc attended the University of Saskatchewan for his undergraduate studies in Agricultural Economics, then graduated from the College of Law, also at the University of Saskatchewan. After receiving his Bachelor of Law in 2002, he spent a year in Australia traveling before articling and being called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2004.

For years, while operating his law practice, Doc was also a firefighter/paramedic with the Regina Fire and Protective Services. One of Doc’s favourite hobbies is home renovations. Doc is also interested in the rapidly developing technology in the practice of law and the use of it to create a better client experience.

Presently, Doc is a member of the Saskatoon Kinsmen Club, 100 Men That Give a Damn, has previously served on the board of Cheshire Homes International, and was an active member with the Alberta Bar Association.

Ben Rakochy

Ben was Born and raised on a farm outside Canora, Saskatchewan. He received his bachelor’s degree (Double Honours) at the University of Saskatchewan in 2010 and subsequently completed law school at the U of S in 2014.

After graduation from law school, Ben articled and practised in Melfort, Saskatchewan. During his time in Melfort, he was able to gain valuable experience specifically related to Family Law issues in rural Saskatchewan, including issues related to agricultural property and divorce.

In 2016, Ben returned to Saskatoon to work at a full service law firm before joining Edge Family Law in January of 2018.

Ben has assisted a variety of clients on all matters related to family law. He particularly has an interest in assisting individuals in the agricultural industry, as his farming background makes it easier to discuss concerns clients may have with their farm assets while going through a separation or divorce. However, Ben’s family law practice is varied and he has represented individuals involving issues related to custody, access, adoption, child and spousal support in addition to family property issues.

Ben has previously sat as a board member for the Canadian Cancer Society (North East Saskatchewan Unit), AIDS Saskatoon and was previously a member of the Melfort Kinsmen Club.

While not at home with his wife Danielle, Ben enjoys golfing, watching (and coaching) football, camping around Saskatchewan and helping his brother with the family farm.

Devin Wilder

Devin has joined the Edge Law team as our articling student. Born and raised in Moose Jaw, he has spent most of his life in Saskatchewan. Devin undertook Political Studies and Economics at the University of Saskatchewan. Upon graduating with distinction in 2016, Devin attended and convocated from the University of York College of Law.

While attending university in Saskatoon, Devin was an avid notetaker for Services of Students and volunteered with Hands-on Outreach & Development. In law school, he sat as Chairperson with the University’s Law Society and gained valuable insight through student internships and work terms at law firms in Canada and Europe.

Devin is a firm believer of community involvement. He is a current member of the NSBA, Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association, and the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon. When Devin is not in the office, he enjoys volunteering at the Running Wild Rescue, working on cars, traveling, and photography. We could not be more excited to have Devin as part of the Edge Law team!

Kelsey Begg

Kelsey is new to the law arena, having received her Legal Assistant Diploma from Saskatoon Business College in October 2018. She has a wealth of life and work experience, though, ranging from banking to bartending to working in a chiropractic office, all of which made good use of her cheerful disposition. Kelsey would tell you her true passions in life are helping others and writing. She is a bookworm and an avid animal enthusiast who is truly excited about starting her new chapter in life working at Edge Family Law. We are thrilled to have her!

Chelsea Herman

Chelsea Herman joined our Edge family in June of 2020, bringing nearly five years’ experience with her.  She graduated from Saskatoon Business College in 2015 and has primarily worked in family law but has also enjoyed assisting in wills and estate litigation.
Chelsea lives with her two children, Brook and Chase, her boyfriend, Cory, and her cat, Bort.  She enjoys the farmer’s market, going for walks with her boyfriend, and reading. During quarantine Chelsea has spent a lot of her time journaling and intends to learn how to garden (successfully) in the summer months.  Her comedic and empathetic personality as well as her professional skills have made her a stellar addition to the team. We hope you enjoy working with her as much as we do!

Lynette Dandurand

With previous legal experience in family, criminal, residential and commercial real estate law, Lynette brings a wealth of experience to the team as our Office Manager. Originally from Saskatchewan, Lynette moved to the US to attend College on a women’s softball scholarship in 2006. She tackled her undergraduate degree in Pre-law (Legal Studies) with a minor in Psychology over the next four years while representing the school on the diamond. Since completion, Lynette has spent time living in Alberta and South Africa, excelling at everything she set out to do. Lynette returned to Saskatchewan in 2018 and now calls Saskatoon home. Aside from playing ball, Lynette also enjoys playing hockey and golf, snowboarding, traveling, camping and spending time with her friends and very large family.

Amber Tyson

Amber‘s passion for her career is driven by personal connection. This is what influenced her to join the Edge Family Law team. She formerly specialized in men’s barbering as a Journeyperson stylist. Two very different careers with one common connection – hospitality. When she’s not smiling, she’s laughing. When she’s not laughing, she’s singing.  If she can make someone’s day better by flashing them a smile, then she counts that day as a win.
Amber‘s passions outside of the office include music, fictional reading, cooking and art. She is also an adrenaline junky! Most importantly she is a mother to a very sparky 6 year old daughter.
As our intake specialist, she looks forward to helping make this process as easy and simple for our clients as possible!
